Personally guided by Teemu Vehviläinen the founder of Grayling Guide
Imagine standing knee-deep in the clear waters of a Norwegian fjord, casting a shrimp fly along a promising shoreline, surrounded by snow-covered mountains.
Somewhere beneath the surface, wild sea trout are hunting for their next meal.
The Sea Trout Eldorado takes you on a three-day private fishing expedition to the fjords of Northern Norway, where dramatic Arctic landscapes meet exciting coastal fly fishing.
Explore secluded beaches, wade along rocky shorelines and travel by rubber boat to fishing areas away from the usual access points.
Whether you're an experienced sea trout angler or trying saltwater fly fishing for the first time, your private guide will help you make the most of the conditions and fishing opportunities.
Your adventure begins where the mountains meet the sea.
Sea trout are among the most exciting fish to pursue with a fly rod.
These wild, sea-run brown trout spend part of their lives feeding in saltwater, hunting shrimp, small fish and other prey along the coast.
In the fjords of Northern Norway, sea trout fishing is about exploring the shoreline, finding promising water and adapting to the changing conditions.
We primarily fish with flies, especially different shrimp patterns that imitate the natural food of sea trout. Depending on conditions, other flies and techniques can also be effective.
Spin fishing is welcome too, including fishing with a bombarda and shrimp fly.
The reward might be a beautifully silver sea trout taking your fly in clear, shallow water, followed by an exciting fight against the backdrop of the Arctic mountains.
Wild fish. Clear water. The anticipation of the next take.
That's what makes sea trout fishing so addictive.
Our destination is typically the Alta fjord in Northern Norway, offering dramatic mountain scenery and extensive shorelines to explore.
Some of the most interesting sea trout fishing opportunities are found along stretches of coastline that are difficult to reach from the road.
That's why the Sea Trout Eldorado includes a rubber boat for exploring the fjord and reaching more secluded fishing areas.
Once ashore, we can wade and fish the coastline, searching for sea trout along promising shores.
The fishing programme is flexible. We choose our locations according to the weather, wind, tides and your personal preferences.
The goal isn't to cover the most kilometres. It's to make the most of the fishing opportunities.
The Sea Trout Eldorado is a private three-day fishing expedition in the spectacular fjords of Northern Norway, including 2–3 nights of accommodation in a cabin or tiipii tent.
Our itinerary is flexible, allowing us to plan the fishing around weather, tides, sea conditions and your arrival and departure schedules.
During the expedition, we'll explore different fishing areas, wade along promising shorelines and use our rubber boat to reach more secluded parts of the fjord.
Whether you prefer fly fishing or spinning, we'll tailor the experience to your interests and make the most of the available fishing opportunities.
Three days in the Arctic fjords. Wild sea trout. A fishing adventure built around you.
Imagine finishing a long day of fishing as the evening light settles over the fjord.
Back at camp, a warm meal and a chance to relax await before another day on the water.
Depending on your itinerary and preferences, accommodation is provided in a wilderness tent camp or a cabin.
Camping offers the freedom to stay close to the fishing waters and enjoy the atmosphere of the Arctic coastline. A cabin provides a more sheltered place to relax after a day outdoors. The choice is yours.
All necessary camping equipment, accommodation and meals are included.
There's no need to worry about organising boats, fishing equipment, meals or the practical arrangements of travelling between fishing areas.
This isn't conventional luxury. It's the freedom to concentrate on the fishing while someone else takes care of the logistics.
The real luxury is spending your days exploring wild fishing waters, with nothing else demanding your attention. Or maybe sometimes dolphins swimming around.
The Sea Trout Eldorado is a private expedition for two to four anglers, accompanied by one dedicated guide.
With a small group, we can keep the fishing flexible, explore different locations and adapt the programme to your preferences.
Fly fishing is the main focus, but spin fishing is also welcome.
You don't need previous sea trout fishing experience. If you're already an experienced fly fisher, we'll just concentrate on finding promising water.
You should, however, be comfortable spending long days outdoors, wading along coastal shorelines and dealing with changing Arctic weather.
Local knowledge. A passion for wild fish.
Every Sea Trout Eldorado expedition is personally guided by Teemu Vehviläinen, founder of Grayling Guide.
I've spent more than 40 years fishing, much of that time exploring the waters of northern Finland, Sweden and Norway.
For me, guiding is about more than taking clients to a fishing location. It's about understanding the conditions, choosing the right approach and sharing the experience of fishing in these extraordinary northern landscapes.
Sea trout fishing in the fjords is always interesting because the tides are constantly changing. Weather and tides make every day different. But when the circumstances are right you can't believe the quality of fishing.
With a maximum of four anglers, we can keep the experience personal and adapt our plans as the fishing develops.
I'll personally guide your expedition from the first day to the last.
"Welcome to the fjord!"

When is the best time for sea trout fishing in Northern Norway?
Our sea trout expeditions are particularly recommended in May and June, with late May and early June often offering excellent opportunities. Fishing conditions vary according to the season, weather and tides.
Is the trip suitable for experienced fly fishers?
Absolutely. The expedition is especially appealing to anglers who enjoy coastal fly fishing, exploring different waters and pursuing wild fish. You don't need previous sea trout fishing experience, and spin fishing is also welcome.
Is the rubber boat included?
Yes. The rubber boat and fuel are included in the expedition. We use the boat to explore the fjord and reach fishing locations that may be difficult to access from the road. Boat use and destinations depend on safe weather and sea conditions.
Do I need to bring fishing or camping equipment?
No. All necessary fishing and camping equipment is included. However, you're welcome to bring your own favourite rods, reels and flies. I recommend Kopperbassen and Pattegrisen flies.
Is catching sea trout guaranteed?
No. We're fishing for wild sea trout in natural conditions. Their movements and feeding activity vary, and catches can never be guaranteed. But on a good day you will catch plenty. We'll use our knowledge of the area and conditions to give you rewarding fishing opportunities.
