Grayling rivers

Könkämäeno

River Könkämäeno is a big river flowing on a border between Sweden and Finland. It is famous for its huge graylings. In this river you definitely have got a chance to catch a grayling weighing more than 1 kilogram (more than 2 pounds).  River is best fished when river levels are not high. Usually it means that the best time to fish this river is from the middle of July to the end of August.  When the river is low you can even wade to Sweden.

In some parts of the Könkämäeno there's a lot of white fish and perch, which can grow huge.  On your trip we can combine different kind of fishing. In the morning we might target on catching a trophy size perch and in the evening we'll fish for grayling or white fish.

If you want to save time and get to isolated areas, I recommend to book a heli-fishing experience. We can easily access really good grayling fishing in the wilderness. This can be even a day trip or we can stay in the wilderness there as long as you want just sleeping in tents. Cost of the helicopter depends on the distance we fly and it varies between 900 and 2000 euros return flights. Fishing guide comes along with the normal daily price.

Half-day trip prices start from 350 euros (without rubber boat) and they last 4 hours.

Full day trip prices start from 700 euros (including a rubber boat) and they last 8-10 hours.

Multi-day rafting trip prices start from 700 euros/day (including a rubber boat and accomodation)

Don't hesitate to ask about grayling rivers. We can also choose a river from Sweden or Norway depending on your wishes. The best fishing time for smaller rivers is early in the season which usually means beginning of July. Prices on those trips to Sweden and Norway are about the same as trips in Finland. We can also fly in remote areas in Finland and Sweden and helicopter prices start from 900 euros return flight.
