Arctic Char in summer

Arctic char lives usually on those highland lakes where water is cold and crystal clear. If we start from Kilpisjärvi we'll find arctic char lakes quite near and day trips are easy to make. But in multi-day trips we like to start from Hetta or Kautokeino, Norway and drive a little bit more to reach more remote waters.

In Ifjord area in Finnmark  there are plenty of possibilities to fish for arctic char. We can also combine different species while driving to Ifjord. We can also go fishing  for grayling or trout if you wish. In calm days it's possible to use only dry flies to catch an arctic char. If the water is not too warm, arctic chars usually swim near the shore searching for food. Dry fly fishing can be really exciting when you can see fish swimming in the crystal clear water.

Although people usually talk about arctic char lakes there are some rivers where arctic char can grow reasonable large. But those rivers are not near the roads. And we don´t make many trips on arctic char rivers in a year.

Full day trip prices start from 700 euros and they last 8-10 hours. We usually start trips from Kilpisjärvi.

Multi-day fishing trip prices start from 700 euros/day (including a tent accomodation). We can hike or you can also ask for ATV or helicopter transportation to the remote lakes and rivers and I´ll try to arrange that with local partners.
