Ice fishing
We can make short ice fishing trips on the lakes nearby. We can ride a snowmobile on the ice. I also often use electronic equipment so we know what´s happening below the ice. We can also fish on the slow flowing rivers in winter. There's a thick ice on them.
On shorter half-day trips we usually concentrate on perch fishing. Also grayling, white fish and arctic char fishing can be excellent on the lakes and rivers in winter. In shallow areas you can just lay down on a mattress or reindeer hide and actually see the fish through the hole. Shorter trips are usually held in Hetta area and longer trips in Kilpisjärvi.
If you want to experience really good arctic fishing I recommend that we'll book a cabin for several days and everyday we can fish different waters and target on different species. Moving around is relatively fast on a snowmobile and we are able to visit really remote areas in a day. And in the evening we'll have time to relax in a cozy cabin and experience the finnish sauna.
In ice fishing we can use a snowmobile and a sledge to move around. We also have got a ice fishing tent if you need to escape the weather. Ice fishing season is normally from November to May. The best time for ice fishing is usually late March and April. Then sun is starting warm days a lot.
Half-day trip prices start from 300 euros and start from Hetta.
Full day fishing trips.
Full day trip prices start from 600 euros (including a snowmobile or sledge ride) and they last 6-10 hours depending on the season and darkness. We usually start trips from Hetta or Kilpisjärvi. We can also go ice fishing to Norway or Sweden.
Multi-day fishing trips
Multi-day fishing trip prices start from 600 euros/day (including a snowmobile or sledge ride). A cabin rent is not included in the price.
